Youth Section

The Barry Wanderers Cricket Club Youth Section began in 1997. The Youth Section enjoyed several successful seasons, playing at the highest standard in the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff. Players such as James Hassett, Andrew Ferguson and Peter Beckett graduated to senior cricket. The Wanderers' home ground is the Hayes Point Complex, the old Sully Hospital, on Hayes Road in Sully. In 2003 when the Sully Hospital was knocked down to build the Hayes Point Complex, the Youth Section had to stop for a few years

In 2008, the Youth Section reformed under the leadership of James Hassett and Jamie Keir among other coaches. In 2009, the Youth Secion took their first steps into league cricket in the Sophia Gardens Indoor League. In 2010, the Wanderers are looking to enter youth league cricket, as the Youth Section embarks on exciting times.

Join the club

It is a great time to join Barry Wanderers and it welcomes new players. The Youth Section are looking for new players to embark on their first season of league cricket. Training takes place on Sundays between 15:00-16:00 at Barry Sports Centre. The summer sessions will begin outside from April, and these will take place on Friday nights.
